Blackjack Rules and Blackjack Strategy

Blackjack is a basic casino table game of strategy that pits you against the dealer. The object of the casino game being who can get 21 or closer to 21 without going over. The dealer and you both receive 2 cards at the beginning. You can see both of your cards, but you only get to see one of the dealers cards. The blackjack dealers other card is known as the "hole card'  You are then required to make a call , trying to get closer to 21 if you do not already have a 21 or as it is called "blackjack". You may take "hit' and hope the next card gets you closer to 21 without going over or "stand" if you believe your cards will be closer to 21 then the dealers. If you are really feeling lucky, you may even "double down", by doubling your bet and receiving one more card. This is a really good page to learn about blackjack strategy and blackjack rules.

Blackjack Basic Principle
In Blackjack, you are dealt two cards face up and the dealer is dealt two cards, one face down and one face up. The goal of Blackjack is to get closer to 21 points than the dealer without going over 21 points.

What is Black Jack?
A "Blackjack" is a hand that totals 21 points with only two cards. Get a  Blackjack and you automatically win. Unless  you and the dealer both have Blackjack, in that case, it is considered a "push" and you receive your wager back. Getting 21 with 3 or more cards is not a blackjack.

Blackjack Card Point Values:
Cards 2 through 10 = face value
Face Cards = 10 points
Aces = 1 point or 11 points, whichever makes for a better hand.

How To Play Blackjack
To start the game, place your bet on the table, make sure it is an amount within the tables minimum and maximum bet.The cards will then be dealt,if the dealer is showing an ACE, you may purchase what is called "insurance", placing an amount equal to half your original bet in the insurance circle. The insurance bet will return 2 times the insurance  bet if the dealer has blackjack. It is recommenced that you never purchase insurance, because the odds are against the dealer having blackjack the majority of the time.
The game will then continue and it is now time for you to decide if you would like to HIT, STAND, DOUBLE DOWN,or SPLIT and continue until you are satisfied you are closer to 21 or you "bust" ,go over 21.

You may only “Double Down” once per hand in Blackjack, doubling your original bet. The blackjack strategy guide below is a good way to determine when you should or should not double down

You my split the first two cards dealt to you, if they are of an equal point value. When you split your cards you are required to place an additional bet equal to your original wager, and you will now be playing two hands. You may continue splitting your hands, unless you are dealt two Aces, you may only split aces once. If you are dealt a pair of aces, you always split them, as the odds are in your favor of getting twenty-one.

Black Jack - What is insurance:
Insurance is a bet that the dealer has Blackjack. You can buy insurance when the dealers card showing is an Ace. Insurance cost half the amount of you bet and pays 2:1 if the dealer has Blackjack. If the dealer does not have Blackjack, you lose the insurance bet.
